This work depicts legendary Italian racing driver Franco Cortese driving an Alfa Romeo in the 1938 Mille Miglia. Cortese holds the record for the most finishes at the Mille Miglia, fourteen completed races.

Michael Wright is a British artist born in 1935. He specializes in watercolour paintings that depict classic and collector’s automobiles, vintage motor racing scenes, and related automotive subjects.
